Essie Fifth Avenue Dupe

I always get a healthy amount of hits for my Essie fifth avenue swatch. Click here to see.
Last week I went browsing for anything cheap and cheerful for a little high and picked up a nail varnish. Now, I always do this, I end up with a spectrum of similar shades because I am instantly drawn to certain colours... And what do you know, I found an instant 'snap' to my long time favourite!!!

Essie 'Fifth Avenue' £7.99, NYC 'Times square' £1.79

Essie on the right, is just a little bit darker in the picture but I think this is due to the formula being heavier. NYC is definitely a thin polish, one coat doesn't quite suffice like Essie but this is expected as it is about nearly a quarter of the price.

Hello lovely ladies (and the odd gentleman...?)

Since I've had so many views on this page, I thought I'd celebrate by doing a little giveaway!

Glossybox March 2013 review

My Asian skincare give away click here to see how to enter

After the brilliant box last month, you can normally expect a little bit of disappointment for the next month... After all how can it be better than last month. A bit pessimistic but if you have been a subscriber for a while, you will understand.

This months theme was "Get City Chic" I think? I'm not sure because it also came with a "My little travelling book" too. Maybe I'm going shopping to New York? but then the other pamphlet implies my destination is London (a grand total of 90mins away from my house). I did think when I saw those little booklets "are they trying to market tiny samples in a positive way"? hmmm lets see!

Here's what I got ...

Ok, so I'm trying my up most best to act like a professional blogger. Firstly, let me say, I am  actually disappointed with this box (5/10).

Juicy Couture La La 1.5ml: I have a big 100ml of the original Juicy couture perfume, so I am rather looking forward to giving this new one a sniff! However, I still don't agree with these tiny 1.5ml samples being in sample boxes like Glossybox, as the item can be obtained for free. I used to be the girl at the perfume counter... I know for sure, ok?

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream 7ml: I never tried the famous 8 hour cream, so I'm keen to give it ago on my flaky patches! I'm definitely keen to see how it compares to it's Japanese counterpart Yu-Be (which incidentally has just landed in the UK at Boots!)

Nails inc St James 4ml: See swatches here

Jelly Pong Pong lip blush: Described as a 'stain' 'juicy colour and hydrates like a balm' and has a 'silky lightweight melts onto your lips' formula. I'm not so keen on this product. The colour is perhaps too vivid for my current ghostly skin tone. The packaging is also a bit meh, when I shake it, I can hear the balm rattling.

Tresemme salon finish hair spray: This item really bought down the box, I would have much preferred another perfume sample (which if you read Glossybox's comments on Facebook, is a very controversial thing to say). I've seen some girls who have blogged how useful it is for handbags. Yes, I  guess you can say that but I much prefer buying a trusty Elnett. I despise Tresemme because they claim it's salon quality... it really isn't. If you would like chemist, salon quality products, then try Loreal. Does Tresemme have fancy 'sister' comapnies like Kerastase, Loreal professional, inoa etc, NO Tressemme doesn't but Loreal does and the years of R&D does slowly reach the products you and I can buy in Boots. I once tried a a Tresemme hair spray, in that massive 500ml bottle. It sprayed like glue gun. Enough said.

I would love to see what others were given this month! Please put a link in comments below.
